VT manages key assets and logistics for the emergency services – from vehicles and communications equipment to information technology and training – enabling them to concentrate on their core roles.
VT is a trusted partner to government departments and local authorities, as they respond to an increasingly diverse mix of incidents in complex environments, from urban flooding to terrorism.
With emergency services subject to ever-decreasing budgets, the contracting of staff training, facilities management and fleet services is a key issue. We help our customers meet complex investment and strategic resource challenges.
Fleet management
VT provides maintenance, short-term rental requirements and collision repair of over 3700 vehicles owned by London’s Metropolitan Police Service. The company has invested in two purpose-built £10 million facilities to maintain the fleet that travels over 63 million miles a year, and provides a guaranteed level of availability to the customer.
VT has been awarded the contract to manage the New Dimension fleet of more than 650 emergency vehicles and equipment modules. These are used for dealing with major emergencies such as floods, terrorist attacks and urban search and rescue.
Training
VT is the largest provider of vocational training in the UK. For Fire and Rescue services and industrial Fire Brigades and departments across the UK, we deliver innovative facilities, training and training support. We have designed, financed built and are now operating two highly-comprehensive training centres in Bristol and Cardiff.
